On April 18, 2014, Sapphire Valley Historical Society team members Lisa Stargel, Sharon Holt and Rick Stargel participated in the continuing clean up effort of Sapphire Valley's Wishing Well / Stone Basin.
Additionally, in order to see just how the drainage tunnel was built, the team ran a video camera down the tunnel to capture the construction.
Amazingly, the tunnel is created by using similar blocks as the seating area. There appears to be one massive stone, carved and situated on top of the tunnel and aligned so precisely, no dirt or tree roots can penetrate the area..
There are old trees approximately 200 years old on top of this area.
